Former US Marine Robert Gilman released from Russian prison after 1,666 days
Robert Gilman, a 32-year-old former US Marine and English teacher, was freed from Russian custody on humanitarian grounds after spending more than four years in prison since his January 2022 arrest. Russian President Vladimir Putin granted the pardon amid severe concerns about Gilman's deteriorating health.
