ArriVent's firmonertinib fails late-stage lung cancer trial, stock plunges over 50%
ArriVent BioPharma's experimental lung cancer drug firmonertinib failed to meet its primary endpoint in a Phase 3 trial for first-line treatment of EGFR Exon 20 insertion mutant non-small cell lung cancer. The high-dose treatment showed a median progression-free survival of 11.0 months versus 9.5 months for chemotherapy, but the result was not statistically significant, causing shares to collapse more than 50% in pre-market trading.
