Syrian court sentences two to death over March 2025 coastal violence
A Syrian military court in Aleppo has sentenced two supporters of the ousted Bashar al-Assad regime to death for inciting an uprising in March 2025, while also handing sentences to current government security forces for killing hundreds of Alawite civilians in retaliatory attacks. Three other defendants received prison terms in connection with the sectarian violence along Syria's coastal region.
