Hurricane Isaias makes landfall on Florida Gulf Coast as category 2 storm
Hurricane Isaias crashed into the U.S. Gulf Coast on Friday as a dangerous category 2 hurricane with winds up to 105 mph, making landfall near Destin, Florida around 8:30 p.m. CT. The storm hammered communities in Alabama and the Florida Panhandle with damaging winds, heavy rain, life-threatening storm surge, flooding and the possibility of tornadoes.
