FTC and multiple states sue Toast over hidden fees and deceptive subscription practices
The US Federal Trade Commission and attorneys general from eight states filed a lawsuit against restaurant software company Toast Inc., alleging the company charges hidden fees, falsely advertises free trials before enrolling customers in hard-to-cancel subscriptions, and pushes unwanted add-ons onto restaurant clients.
