UAE's Mubadala Investment Co. in talks to invest up to $6.3 billion in major AI data center project in Japan's Akita Prefecture
Abu Dhabi sovereign wealth fund Mubadala Investment Co. is considering investing up to ¥1 trillion ($6.3 billion) in a 500-megawatt AI data center in Akita, Japan, as part of a larger ¥2 trillion project led by U.S. AI startup Bitgrit and Japanese IT company S2. The facility would be one of Japan's largest AI data centers, leveraging the region's renewable energy resources including wind power and water supplies.
