Thabo Mbeki denies obstructing apartheid-era crime prosecutions

Former South African President Thabo Mbeki testified that he neither ordered prosecutors to halt apartheid-era crime cases nor made secret deals to protect former security officers. Mbeki appeared before the Khampepe Commission to address claims of political interference in post-Truth and Reconciliation Commission prosecutions.
