Ethereum Foundation launches zkAPI for anonymous AI payments
The Ethereum Foundation deployed zkAPI to mainnet on October 1, 2026, a privacy protocol that uses zero-knowledge proofs to enable anonymous payments for AI services and metered APIs. Built with the Open Anonymity Project, the system implements a design published by Vitalik Buterin and Ethereum Foundation dAI Lead Davide Crapis in February 2026.
