Google DeepMind and GovTech Singapore deploy on-device AI scam detection system
Google DeepMind and Singapore's Government Technology Agency have unveiled a privacy-preserving scam detection system that runs entirely on users' smartphones, using a fine-tuned Gemma model to analyze suspicious messages in real time without sending data to the cloud. The system alerts Android users to potential scam attempts while keeping all message analysis on-device.
