Pennsylvania measles outbreak reaches 1,078 cases, largest since disease elimination in 2000
Pennsylvania reported 145 new measles cases in the past week, bringing the total to 1,078 since the outbreak began in April. Five residents have died, making this the largest U.S. measles outbreak since the disease was declared eliminated in 2000 and the worst since the early 1990s.
