OCC encourages community banks to issue stablecoins ahead of January GENIUS Act rollout
The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency petitioned community banks to enter stablecoin issuance on October 26, 2026, following finalization of GENIUS Act rules set to take effect in January 2027.
