Eli Lilly's Foundayo demonstrates cardiovascular safety in ACHIEVE-4 diabetes trial
Eli Lilly's oral GLP-1 drug Foundayo (orforglipron) met its primary cardiovascular safety endpoint in the Phase 3 ACHIEVE-4 trial, showing non-inferiority to insulin glargine in adults with type 2 diabetes and obesity. The study found a 16% lower risk of MACE-4 and 23% lower risk of MACE-3, though cardiovascular benefits remain unproven.
