New Zealand confirms first H5N1 bird flu case in migratory seabird, begins vaccination of endangered species
New Zealand reported its first case of the deadly H5N1 bird flu after a migratory seabird was found infected on a beach near Wellington. Biosecurity Minister Andrew Hoggard announced the detection, which has raised concerns for the country's uniquely vulnerable wildlife.
