Lisbon releases 30,000 sterile mosquitoes to combat Asian tiger mosquito population

Thirty thousand sterile male Asian tiger mosquitoes were released in Lisbon's Alvalade parish as part of an experimental project to reduce populations of the species that spreads dengue, zika and yellow fever. The non-biting males are intended to mate with females and produce no offspring.
