UK-based AI data center startup Nscale has appointed Fidji Simo, former OpenAI and Meta executive, to its board as the company prepares for an initial public offering. Simo was recruited by board member Sheryl Sandberg and brings Silicon Valley leadership experience to the fast-growing infrastructure company.
Following an internal restructuring that merges safety and research under a single leader, head of safety systems Johannes Heidecke is departing OpenAI, with Mia Glaese elevated to the newly created VP of Research and Safety role and Saachi Jain named interim head of safety systems.
