Air pollution linked to higher suicide risk, research suggests
A major international meta-analysis found that both short- and long-term exposure to common air pollutants — particularly fine particulate matter (PM2.5) and nitrogen dioxide — are significantly associated with an increased risk of death by suicide, suicide attempts, and suicidal ideation.
