US charges Nicolas Maduro and wife Cilia Flores with torture conspiracy
U.S. prosecutors filed new criminal charges against former Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores, accusing them of conspiring to torture political opponents and American citizens to maintain power. The torture charges add to existing drug trafficking allegations against the couple, who have been in federal custody since January.
