Tung Chee-hwa, Hong Kong's first post-colonial leader, dies at 89
Tung Chee-hwa, Hong Kong's first chief executive after the 1997 handover from Britain to China, died at age 89. The former shipping tycoon led the territory through the Asian financial crisis and early pro-democracy protests during the transition to Chinese rule.
