Australian whistleblower David McBride released on parole after serving 27 months for leaking Afghanistan war documents
David McBride, a former army lawyer who leaked classified military documents about Australia's involvement in Afghanistan to the media, has been released from a Canberra prison on parole after serving more than two years of a five-year sentence. Attorney-General Michelle Rowland granted the parole.
