Virginia court blocks voter-approved redistricting plan that would have favored Democrats in midterms

Virginia voters approved a mid-decade redistricting referendum on Tuesday that could have given Democrats up to four additional House seats, but a court blocked the new congressional maps one day later, ruling the referendum invalid.
