Study links type 1 diabetes immune changes to potential cancer protection
New research published in The Journal of Immunology reveals how high blood sugar and type 1 diabetes may protect against certain cancers including melanoma, breast and colon cancer. The findings could inform development of new cancer immunotherapy treatments by explaining the previously mysterious association between T1D and decreased cancer risk.
