Air India pilot undergoes confirmatory drug testing after turbulence incident caused 300-foot altitude loss

The captain of an Air India flight from Phuket to Delhi that experienced severe turbulence and lost approximately 300 feet of altitude on August 4 has been sent for confirmatory drug testing after initial psychoactive substance screening flagged results requiring further laboratory analysis. Both pilots have been removed from the roster pending investigation.
