The Thai government has ordered a review of gun control laws following two deadly shootings near Bangkok, renewing focus on the country's growing problem with mass shootings four years after previous pledges to reform gun laws.
A 14-year-old student killed at least nine people, including his grandparents, in a shooting rampage at a high school and home outside Bangkok. A 12-year-old girl died from her injuries the day after the attack, marking Thailand's worst mass killing in nearly four years.
A teenage student shot and killed his grandparents at their home before opening fire at a high school in Nonthaburi province near Bangkok, killing three teachers and three students. The suspected attacker also died, bringing the total death toll to at least seven or eight people, with 15 others wounded.
An explosive fire engulfed a popular pub in northern Bangkok, killing 27 people and injuring 73 others, with 22 in critical condition. Police are investigating possible negligence, including obstructed emergency exits that may have trapped people trying to flee the burning venue.
Iran's Mahan Air operated the first Tehran-Moscow flight, resuming the route after a 60-day suspension caused by the US-Israeli war; the same day Iran's Foreign Minister returned from meeting Putin in Russia to discuss the conflict.
