More than 55,000 Sudanese refugees flee to Chad as UN calls for funding
Over 55,000 Sudanese refugees have crossed into eastern Chad this year, with the UN refugee agency reporting approximately 400 people per day now fleeing—about 20 times the previous daily rate. The UN is calling for increased funding to address the humanitarian crisis.
