AI company Anthropic has signed a $35 billion cloud-computing deal with Lambda, a cloud provider backed by Nvidia, for a data center in Nueces County, Texas. The project, being developed by Hut 8, covers approximately 350 megawatts of capacity.
Groq has raised $350 million to fund its transition from AI chipmaker to neocloud provider offering GPU and AI infrastructure services. The funding comes as the neocloud sector expands with companies like CoreWeave, Nebius, Lambda, and Crusoe competing in the AI infrastructure market.
Nvidia has partnered with six major Wall Street firms including Apollo, BlackRock, Blackstone, Brookfield, Goldman Sachs, and KKR to mobilize over $500 billion in third-party capital for GPU-backed AI infrastructure financing. The complex leveraged financing structures, including Lambda's $1 billion credit facility, are drawing increased scrutiny as rating standards remain unresolved.
