Top U.S. universities, scientific research advocates, patient groups, and California Attorney General Rob Bonta are urging the Trump administration to withdraw a proposed rule that would give the White House broad authority over more than $1 trillion in annual federal grant funding, warning it would politicize the grant process and undermine biomedical research.
