A survey conducted by Nomura and Laser Digital between December 2025 and January 2026 found that 65% of 518 Japanese institutional investors now view crypto as a vital portfolio diversifier, up from 62% in June 2024. Positive sentiment toward crypto increased from 25% to 31% over the same period, while negative outlook declined from 23% to 18%. Among investors with concrete crypto plans, 79% intend to invest within three years, with 60% planning allocations of 2-5% of portfolios. The survey reveals strong interest in staking, tokenized assets, and stablecoins for treasury management and cross-border payments, though investors cite challenges including regulatory uncertainty, high volatility, and lack of fundamental analysis frameworks.
