Federal Appeals Court Rules Trump Administration Can Remove Exhibits on Slavery, Climate Change from National Parks

A federal appeals court has handed the Trump administration a legal victory, pausing a lower court order that required the National Park Service to reinstall dozens of exhibits on slavery, civil rights, and climate change. The 1st U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that advocacy groups failed to show irreparable harm from the removals, which were initiated under Secretary Doug Burgum's Order 3431. While District Judge Angel Kelley previously condemned the removals as government-sanctioned erasure, the stay allows the administration to continue reviewing and removing flagged displays.

First Circuit stay order
