Block Inc., the fintech company led by Jack Dorsey behind Square and Cash App, published its first-quarter 2026 proof-of-reserves report disclosing total Bitcoin holdings of 28,355 BTC worth approximately $2.2 billion, including $1.5 billion in customer Bitcoin and $692.3 million in corporate treasury. The company added 114 BTC in Q1 and committed to regular third-party audited reports using on-chain cryptographic signatures for independent verification. Block's corporate holdings of nearly 9,000 BTC rank as the 14th-largest among corporate treasuries, just behind Trump Media. The transparency initiative reflects broader industry adoption of proof-of-reserves following the November 2022 FTX collapse, though Strategy executive chairman Michael Saylor has criticized the practice for exposing wallet transaction histories.
