XRP Ledger releases v3.3.0 upgrade with five new features

The XRP Ledger is set to release its v3.3.0 software upgrade, introducing five new features for validator approval. The amendments include privacy-enhancing Confidential MPT, atomic Batch transactions, and institutional-focused Permission Delegation. The latter two are revised versions of features previously pulled due to critical security flaws. The upgrade aims to enhance XRPL's capabilities for tokenized assets and enterprise use.

XRPL v3.3.0 upgrade release

▪The manifest flood was addressed by a separate hotfix, version 3.2.1, which added four new limits to how nodes handle validator manifests.
▪New amendments on the XRP Ledger require at least 80% support from trusted validators for two consecutive weeks before they are activated.

Confidential MPT privacy features

▪Confidential MPT allows token holders to keep balances and transaction amounts private, while still permitting access for regulators or auditors when needed.
▪The Confidential MPT amendment uses zero-knowledge proofs and elliptic-curve encryption to provide privacy for tokenized assets.

Batch transaction settlements

▪The Batch amendment is a revised version of a feature pulled in February after a security flaw was found that could have let an attacker execute unauthorized transactions.
▪With the Batch feature, either all grouped transactions succeed together, or they all fail, reducing settlement risk.
▪The Permission Delegation amendment allows organizations to grant narrowly defined transaction permissions without giving up control of their primary signing keys.

▪The Sponsored Fees and Reserves amendment allows banks, issuers, or platforms to pay XRP transaction fees and reserve requirements on behalf of their users.
▪Permission Delegation is a revised version of a feature disabled in September 2025 due to a bug that could have allowed an account's balance to be drained.
