KB Kookmin Bank, South Korea's largest lender with $552.76 billion in assets, will launch a blockchain-based cross-border payment service in August 2026. Operating on JPMorgan's Kinexys platform, the service will initially support U.S. dollar transactions for import and export businesses across 10 countries, including the U.S., Singapore, and Saudi Arabia. The system integrates with existing SWIFT rails to accelerate settlement times without using public crypto tokens.
