Trump Announces First-Ever Republican Midterm Convention in Dallas for September 2026

President Donald Trump has announced a historic, first-of-its-kind Republican midterm convention in Dallas, Texas, scheduled for September 9-10, 2026. The unorthodox event aims to energize voters as the GOP defends its razor-thin congressional majorities. The move comes amid low approval ratings for Trump, with 58% of citizens disapproving of his performance, and high stakes in Texas, where scandal-plagued Republican Ken Paxton faces Democrat James Talarico in a toss-up Senate race.
