Boston Dynamics appoints former Amazon Alexa and artificial general intelligence head Rohit Prasad as its new chief executive officer, effective October 7, 2026. Prasad succeeds Robert Playter, who stepped down in February 2026. The appointment comes as parent company Hyundai Motor Group, which acquired Boston Dynamics in 2021, plans to build a factory by 2028 capable of producing 30,000 humanoid robots annually and deploy the Atlas robot at its Georgia plant.
