Pi Network Rolls Out Protocol 26 Upgrade With August 11 Deadline for Node Operators

Pi Network has commenced the rollout of Protocol 26, the ninth of ten planned upgrades, establishing a strict August 11, 2026, deadline for Mainnet node operators to update their software or face disconnection. While the announcement triggered a short-term price increase of over 6% to around $0.082, long-term price growth remains constrained by a significant supply overhang, with PiScan data showing 4.25 million tokens unlocking daily and 1.71 billion scheduled to enter circulation over the next year.
