Western Union and Rain partner to enable stablecoin transactions on Visa network

Western Union and stablecoin platform Rain have launched Stablecard, a digital wallet and Visa secured credit card solution, across 37 markets. The service utilizes USDPT, a U.S. dollar stablecoin issued by Anchorage Digital on the Solana blockchain, allowing users to store value and spend at any Visa merchant or ATM. The launch furthers Western Union's digital expansion, leveraging Rain's infrastructure, which was bolstered by a $250 million Series C funding round in January 2026.
