AI hardware startup Etched has raised $700 million at a $21 billion valuation in a funding round led by Jane Street, more than doubling its $10.3 billion valuation from July 2026. The round follows successful testing by Jane Street, which installed Etched's specialized inference clusters in its data center. Meanwhile, competitor Groq raised $350 million at a reduced $3.5 billion valuation—down from its $6.9 billion peak—following a technology licensing deal and talent poach by Nvidia, prompting Groq to pivot to renting data center compute.
