ByteDance, the Beijing-based developer of TikTok, is considering increasing capital spending to as much as $70 billion in 2026, more than double its 2025 spending. The company will underwrite much of the investment through roughly $50 billion in profit earned in 2025. ByteDance is building data centers as part of its AI infrastructure push to lead the Chinese AI market and challenge top US AI players abroad.
