Ripple Receives Full MiCA CASP Authorization in Luxembourg

Ripple has secured full Crypto Asset Service Provider (CASP) authorization from Luxembourg's regulator, making it compliant with the EU's MiCA framework. The license allows Ripple to offer crypto services across 30 EEA countries. This approval comes after the MiCA transition period ended on July 1, a deadline that major exchange Binance failed to meet, forcing it to suspend some services.

Ripple MiCA CASP authorization

▪The CASP license allows Ripple to offer regulated crypto payment products to clients across the 30 member states of the European Economic Area (EEA).
▪The full license was an upgrade from a preliminary CASP approval that Ripple had received in June.
▪Ripple received full Crypto Asset Service Provider (CASP) authorization from Luxembourg's financial regulator, the Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF).
▪This authorization makes Ripple fully compliant with the European Union's Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulation.

Ripple regulatory license portfolio

▪In February, Ripple secured a full Electronic Money Institution (EMI) license from Luxembourg's regulator.
▪Ripple also obtained cryptoasset registration with the UK's Financial Conduct Authority in January 2026.
▪Ripple's global portfolio of regulatory approvals and licenses now totals more than 75.

MiCA framework transition

▪MiCA replaces national crypto licensing systems with a single framework that allows authorized firms to "passport" services across the European Economic Area.
▪The MiCA framework's final transition period ended on July 1, 2026, after which crypto firms must be licensed to operate in the region.

Industry-wide CASP adoption

▪As of July 3, 2026, 280 firms had secured CASP authorization, a fraction of the over 3,000 that operated under previous national regimes.
▪Other major firms with MiCA authorization include Kraken, Coinbase, OKX, and Crypto.com.
▪Binance, the world's largest crypto exchange, failed to secure a MiCA license by the deadline and had to suspend some services in the EU.
