The ban, originally imposed in 2021 over Captagon drug smuggling, is being reversed due to "positive steps" by Lebanon's government and the perceived weakening of Iran-backed Hezbollah. The decision offers relief to Lebanon's crisis-hit economy, which lost an estimated $240 million in annual exports to the kingdom.
