A diplomatic rift has strained the Poland-Ukraine alliance after Polish President Karol Nawrocki stripped Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Poland's highest honor, the Order of the White Eagle. The move followed Zelenskyy's decision to name a military unit after the World War II-era Ukrainian Insurgent Army, which is linked to the massacre of up to 100,000 Poles. In response, Zelenskyy and other top Ukrainian officials returned their Polish awards, and Zelenskyy skipped a major recovery conference in Gdansk.
