Anthropic Localizes Claude Pricing for India, Its Second-Largest Market

Anthropic is localizing Claude AI pricing in Indian rupees for India, its second-largest market with 5.8% of global usage. New monthly prices for Pro, Max, and Team plans are higher than their U.S. equivalents and do not yet support India's popular UPI payment system. The move is part of a broader expansion in the price-sensitive market, which includes a new Bengaluru office and partnerships with Infosys and TCS.

India rupee pricing rollout

Anthropic's India expansion

▪Anthropic opened an office in Bengaluru, India, in February as part of its expansion in the country.
▪In January, Anthropic appointed former Microsoft India managing director Irina Ghose to lead its business in India.

Model access restrictions

▪The access restriction on the Fable 5 model has since been lifted, but access to Mythos 5 remains limited.
