ChatGPT and Roblox designated as very large online platforms under EU Digital Services Act

OpenAI's ChatGPT and the gaming platform Roblox are set to be designated as “very large online platforms” under the EU’s Digital Services Act. This move, expected as soon as August 2026, was triggered by both services exceeding 45 million monthly users in the bloc. The new status will subject them to stricter scrutiny and require them to clamp down on illegal and harmful content.
