Former Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah is closing in on a free transfer to Turkish club Besiktas after agreeing in principle to a contract until 2027 worth €12 million per year. While Salah preferred to remain in European football over lucrative offers from Saudi Arabia and Major League Soccer, negotiations hit a late hurdle. Besiktas president Serdal Adali accused Salah's agent, Ramy Abbas, of raising commission demands to an unacceptable 35 percent once media reports surfaced.
