G42, the Abu Dhabi-based AI firm chaired by Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, is exploring selling a majority stake to American companies and potentially reincorporating in the US. The move is designed to secure permanent access to advanced AI chips — primarily Nvidia and AMD — beyond its current license-free window under the US-UAE AI Acceleration Partnership, which expires around April 2027. G42 is also in early talks to raise billions of dollars. No final decisions have been made. Existing investors include Microsoft ($1.5B stake), Silver Lake, and Mubadala Investment Co.
