Spire Global has partnered with SATE on STRAIDE, an 18-month research and development program funded through Italian Space Agency and UK Space Agency subscriptions to the European Space Agency, with programmatic support from ESA. The partners aim to develop and validate SATE’s CLUE AI diagnostic system for real-time satellite health monitoring, anomaly diagnosis and predictive failure analysis. Spire will contribute its satellite platform, onboard processing capabilities, operational flight data and a ground-based hardware replica. Over the course of the program, the partners will work toward a validated end-to-end demonstration intended to inform how AI-driven diagnostics could be integrated into Spire’s satellite architectures. Spire says the system could enable earlier detection of in-orbit issues, reduce operational downtime and support more autonomous constellation operations.
