Johnson & Johnson's JNJ-4804, combining Tremfya and Simponi for inflammatory bowel disease, failed to meet the primary endpoint of clinical remission in Phase 2b trials for ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease, with results presented May 5, 2026. The DUET study follows a 2022 clinical trial that nearly doubled remission rates and spurred industry-wide combination therapy development. Despite missing statistical significance, the combination performed better than individual drugs.
