AI chip startup Positron AI has raised $875 million in a new funding round, skyrocketing its valuation to $5 billion just seven months after being valued at $1.06 billion. Co-led by NEA, Atreides Management, and Jim Clark, the capital will fund the final design stage of Asimov, Positron's next-generation inference chip featuring a memory-first architecture. The funding comes amid surging demand for specialized hardware to run AI models, intensifying competition against market leader Nvidia.
