Nuclear startup Valar Atomics Inc. raised $1 billion in a Series B funding round led by Sequoia Capital, tripling its valuation to $6 billion. The company also secured a $200 million credit facility. The capital will fund Valar's transition from demonstrating its Ward 250 reactor—which recently achieved criticality and powered an Nvidia Blackwell system—to mass-producing fleets of small modular reactors. Valar plans to build a 30-megawatt waterless AI factory in Utah in partnership with Nvidia.
