Tencent Holdings launched ClawPro, an enterprise AI agent platform built on OpenClaw, the fastest-growing GitHub project in history with 199K+ stars that reached 335,000 stars and 27 million monthly visitors by March 2026. The Austrian developer Peter Steinberger created OpenClaw in November 2025, renamed it twice due to trademark issues, and announced joining OpenAI while transferring the project to an open-source foundation. Tencent aggressively adopted OpenClaw across multiple products including QClaw for WeChat's 1.3 billion users and plans to double AI spending to 36 billion yuan in 2026, though its bulk scraping of ClawHub pushed Steinberger's costs into five digits. Chinese cybersecurity agencies warned of security vulnerabilities and instructed state enterprises and banks to avoid installing OpenClaw, even as China became the platform's largest user base with double the activity of the United States.
