Aave deployed its V4 upgrade on Ethereum mainnet following a governance vote, introducing a hub-and-spoke architecture designed to concentrate liquidity and expand DeFi into real-world credit markets, with Chainlink oracle integration and an Aave Pro tier for advanced users. Separately, Aave launched on X Layer, OKX's Ethereum-compatible Layer 2 network, on March 30, 2026, running on Aave v3.6 and supporting eight assets including USDT0, GHO, and liquid staking tokens. The X Layer deployment features 6 dedicated eModes enabling borrowing at up to 88% LTV for liquid staking pairs, with native access through OKX Wallet eliminating bridging requirements and OKX DEX allowing direct trading of tokenized Aave positions like aUSDC and aWETH. Aave controls 60% of the DeFi lending market with $47 billion in net deposits across more than a dozen blockchain networks, while OKX serves over 120 million users globally with licenses in the US, UAE, Singapore, and other markets.
